MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 63

PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION OF TIMELY EXPORT

STATISTICS TO THE NATIONAL STATISTICS OFFICE

WHEREAS, Executive Order 98 issued on 10 June 1993 has mandated the Export Development Council (EDC) to monitor the implementation of the Medium-Term Philippine Export Development Plan (MTPEDP);

WHEREAS, timely statistics on export should be provided by the National Statistics Office (NSO) in order for the EDC and other concerned agencies to properly monitor the implementation of the MTPEDP;

WHEREAS, to enable the NSO to release statistics on exports 30 days after the reference month, other government agencies must cooperate with the NSO in providing timely export statistics:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me, do hereby order:

Section 1. The President of the National Power Corporation shall make available to the NSO a generating set to ensure power supply on a twenty four (24) hour basis.

Section 2. The Commissioner of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) shall make available to the designated NSO representatives as soon as possible accomplished documents collected by the offices of the BOC at the ports of Manila and outposts as contained in Annexes “A” and “B” of this Memorandum Circular.

Section 3. The Administrator of the Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA) shall make available to the designated NSO representatives as soon as possible the following accomplished documents collected by the Export Processing Zones in Baguio, Cavite and Mactan:

a. ED – Export Declaration with/without Foreign Exchange Proceeds;

b. EPZA Export Tally; and

c. EPZA Import Tally.

Section 4. This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
