Begun and held in Metro Manila, on Monday, the twenty-fifth
day of July, nineteen hundred and ninety-four.
[REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7973]
AN ACT CONVERTING THE SIGMA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SIGMA, PROVINCE OF CAPIZ, INTO A COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY TO BE KNOWN AS THE SIGMA COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. The Sigma National High School in the Municipality of Sigma, Province of Capiz, is hereby converted into a college of science and technology to be known as the Sigma College of Science and Technology.
SEC. 2. The College shall offer general secondary curriculum, professional, technical and technological courses as may be determined by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
SEC. 3. The assets, liabilities, personnel, equipment and records of the Sigma National High School shall be transferred to the Sigma College of Science and Technology.
SEC. 4. The CHED shall take such steps as are necessary for the conversion and operation of the school and the immediate implementation of this Act.
SEC. 5. The amount necessary for the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year’s appropriations of the Sigma National High School. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
