Begun and held in Metro Manila, on Monday, the twenty-

second day of July, nineteen hundred and ninety-six.

[REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8309]

AN ACT SEPARATING THE MONTOL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ANNEX FROM THE LABO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF OZAMIZ AND CONVERTING IT INTO AN INDEPENDENT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE MONTOL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Montol National High School Annex is hereby separated from the Labo National High School in the city of Ozamiz, and converted into an independent national high school to be known as the Montol National High School.

SEC. 2. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary for the effective implementation of this Act.

SEC. 3. All personnel, assets, liabilities and records of the Montol National High School Annex are hereby transferred to and absorbed by the Montol National High School.

SEC. 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
