MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 474

AMENDING MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 234 DATED 20 SEPTEMBER 1994

ESTABLISHING A PRESIDENTIAL TASK FORCE TO PLAN, IMPLEMENT

AND OVERSEE THE PRESIDENT’S BRIDGE PROGRAM

I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby amend Memorandum Order No. 234 dated 20 September 1994, and order the following:

Section 1. The Task Force on the President’s Bridge Program established under Memorandum Order No. 234 dated 20 September 1994 is hereby renamed as the Oversight Committee on the President’s Bridge Program, hereinafter referred to as the Committee, to serve as the policy coordinating body for the efficient implementation of said Program, including the provision of policy directions to fast-track its implementation.

Section 2. Section 1 is hereby amended to read as follows:

“The Committee shall be chaired by the Executive Secretary with the Secretary of Budget and Management (DBM) and Director General, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) as members”.

Section 3. Section 2 is also hereby modified as follows:

“The Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Interior and Local Government shall be the agencies responsible for the implementation of the national and local bridges under the President’s Bridge Program, respectively. In line with this, the DPWH and DILG shall each establish the appropriate Unit within their present organizational structure to attend to the implementation requirements of their respective Program components.”

Section 4. Section 3 is hereby deleted and Sections 4 and 5 are renumbered to 3 and 4 accordingly.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 17th day of April in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Eight.
