PROCLAMATION NO. 859

DECLARING MONDAY, JUNE 20, 2005, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF CALAMBA

WHEREAS, Sunday, June 19, 2005, marks the 144th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal;

WHEREAS, to enable the people of the City of Calamba to celebrate the occasion, the Office of the Sangguniang Panlungsod requested that Monday, June 20, 2005 be declared as special (non-working) day instead of June 19, 2005, which falls on a Sunday;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Calamba be given full opportunity to celebrate this milestone in their city’s history with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Monday, June 20, 2005, as special (non-working) day in the City of Calamba.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 16th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Five.
