PROCLAMATION NO. 1094

DECLARING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2006 AS “HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT MONTH”

WHEREAS, the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) will hold its 43rd Annual Conference on September 27 to 29, 2006, with the theme “Inspiring MVP’s, Creating New Heroes”;

WHEREAS, the conference will focus on the evolving role of the HR profession as a Most Valued Profession, Most Valued Partner, and Most Valued Player in business organizations and nation building;

WHEREAS, the conference aims to generate mindset of urgency and collective action by presenting models and success stories from the different sectors of society;

WHEREAS, there is a need to recognize the commitment of the Human Resource Management practitioners to the development and promotion of the country’s human resource; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention on the significance of Human Resource Management (HRM) in attaining the highest potential of Filipinos as managers, as workers, and as empowered and technology-proficient citizens of a new country of economic growth and social progress.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of September 2006 as “Human Resource Management Month” under the auspices of the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
