PROCLAMATION NO. 1868

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2009, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBAY

WHEREAS, Wednesday, September 2, 2009, marks the 144th birth anniversary of the late General Simeon A. Ola, the last revolutionary general to surrender at the end of the Philippine-American War;

WHEREAS, in order to give more meaning and importance to the occasion, it is but fitting and proper to declare September 2, 2009 as special (non-working) day.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Wednesday, September 2, 2009 as special (non-working) day in the Province of Albay.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
