MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR

PROVINCIAL GOVERNORS, CITY MAYORS, MUNICIPAL MAYORS, AND DILG REGIONAL DIRECTORS 

SUBJECT       :
VMLP PROVINCIAL AND REGIONAL CHAPTER ELECTIONS

Section 2 of the Vice Mayor’s League of the Philippines (VMLP) Election Policy and Guidelines provides for the holding of their provincial and regional chapter elections. For this term, the said elections will be held on the 3rd and 4th weeks of August, 2010, for the provincial level, and the whole month of October, 2010, for the regional level.

 In this connection, all City and Municipal Mayors are hereby encouraged to allow their Vice Mayors to attend their provincial and regional chapter elections on official business. The payment of traveling expenses and applicable registration fee, if any, as well as a Term Membership Fee of PhP 10,000.00, as provided for in Article V, Section 2 of the League’s Constitution and By-Laws, may be authorized, chargeable against local funds, subject to the availability thereof, and to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

 The VMLP National President shall submit to, through the Director of the Bureau of Local Government Supervision, the Secretary of Interior and Local Government, a Post-Election Report within fifteen (15) days after the league elections at the provincial and regional levels shall have been completed.
