PROCLAMATION NO. 11

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11, 2010, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF SAMAR

WHEREAS, Spain declared Samar as a province independent of Leyte and Cebu on August 11, 1841, which occasion is now celebrated in the Province of Samar as “Samar Day”;

WHEREAS, Wednesday, August 11, 2010, marks the Samar Day anniversary of the Province of Samar;

WHEREAS,it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Samar be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA, JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Wednesday, August 11, 2010, as special (non-working) day in the Province of Samar.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
