PROCLAMATION NO. 15

DECLARING FRIDAY, AUGUST 20, 2010, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF DAVAO

WHEREAS, the City of Davao has traditionally held a week-long Kadayawan Festival as an annual thanksgiving by the people and the City Government of Davao for the year’s bountiful harvest,

WHEREAS, the Kadayawan Festival is also an occasion for the various indigenous communities to display their peculiar cultural sports and distinct tribal arts, crafts and their significant contributions to Davao City’s development and rich culture;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Davao, be giving full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, Benigno S. Aquino III, do hereby declare Friday, August 20, 2010, as special (non-working) day in the City of Davao, in celebration of “Kadayawan Festival”.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 17 day of August, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Ten.
