PROCLAMATION NO. 56

DECLARING NOVEMBER 10-13, 2010 AS THE “NATIONAL NEUROLOGY DAY”

WHEREAS, the Philippine Neurological Association is the lead organization concerned with the delivery of neurological care, education and research for the promotion of health and well-being of our people;

WHEREAS, there is a need to increase awareness and understanding of neurological illnesses to enable the citizenry to take active roles in the prevention of such illnesses and to avail of accessible and available care for the afflicted ones;

WHEREAS, a commemoration of the “National Neurology Days” will benefit various communities which are in need of neurology care from the simultaneous outreach programme to be undertaken nationwide which will provide neurological services, conduct of scientific activities and other advocacy programs;

WHEREAS, it is proper to declare a “National Neurology Days” to help attain a sustained and dedicated commitment among the various sectors of society towards alleviating the plight of those afflicted with neurological illnesses.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Philippines by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare November 10-13, 2010 as the “National Neurology Days”.

The Philippine Neurological Association, the Department of Health, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Education and the different non-government sectors are hereby enjoined to effectively collaborate to ensure a beneficial and productive commemoration of the event.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
