PROCLAMATION NO. 132

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27, 2011, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF LAPU-LAPU

WHEREAS, Wednesday, April 27, 2011, marks the commemoration of “KADAUGAN SA MACTAN”, a cultural and historical event for the City of Lapu-Lapu;

WHEREAS, the Battle of Mactan is among the significant events in Philippine history and serves as testimony to the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Filipinos; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Lapu-Lapu be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Wednesday, April 27, 2011, as special (non-working) day in the City of Lapu-Lapu.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand  and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
