Begun and held in Metro Manila, on Monday, the twenty-third day of July, two thousand twelve.

[REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10471]

AN ACT CHANGING THE NAME OF RAMONITO P. MARAVILLA SR. NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN BARANGAY ESTEFANIA, CITY OF BACOLOD, PROVINCE OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL TO ROMANITO P. MARAVILLA SR. NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9939

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Sections 1, 2 and 3 of Republic Act No. 9939 are hereby amended to read as follows:

“SECTION 1. Separation and Conversion into a National High School. – The Bata National School – Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. Extension in Barangay Estefania, City of Bacolod, Province of Negros Occidental is hereby separated from the Bata National High School and converted into an independent national high school to be known as Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. National High School.”

“SEC. 2. Transfer of Assets and Liabilities. – All personnel, assets, liabilities and records of the Bata National High School – Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. Extension are hereby transferred to and absorbed by the Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. National High School.”

“SEC. 3. Appropriations. – The Secretary of Education shall immediately include in the Department’s program the operationaiization of the Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. National High School, the initial funding of which shall be charged against the current year’s appropriations of the Bata National High School – Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. Extension. Thereafter, the amount necessary for the continued operation of the school shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.”

SEC. 2. Effectivity. – This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
