ENACTEDby the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria-
I.-{ I ) The Accountant-General of the Federation shall, when authorised to
do so by warrants signed by the Minister charged with ,responsibility for finance,
payout of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation during the year
ending 31 st December 2001 the sums specified by the warrents, not exceeding in
the aggregate eight hundred and ninety-four billion, two hundred and fourteen
million, eight hundred and five thousand, one hundred and eighty-six Naira
(N894.214,805,186.00).
(2) The amount mentioned in subsection (1) of this section shall be
appropriated to heads of expenditure as indicated in the Schedule to thif" Act.
(3) No part of the amount aforesaid shall be issued from the Consolidated
Revenue Fund of the Federation .after the end of the year mentioned in subsection
(1) of this section.
2.-(1) All amounts. appropriated under this Act shall be made from the
Consolidated Revenue Fund only for the purposes specified in the Schedule to
this Act.
(2) All projects provided for under this Act shall be duly executed provided
that the funding projection under this Act is realised-and no discretionary release

Short title.
of funds or implementation shall be allowed.
(3) Where the need arises for a discretionary release of funds or implementation,
which is not in conformity with the Schedule to this Act, the release or implementation
shall be with the prior resolution ofthe National Assembly.
3. This Act may be cited as 2001 Appropriation Act 2000.

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
The Act provides for the issue out from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation a total sum of (N894,214,805,186.00) only out of which N397,856,858,542 only is for Recurrent •Expenditure, while the balance of N496,357 ,946,644 only is for contribution to the Development Fund for Capital Projects for the service of the Federation for the year ending 31st December, 2001. "Other Items" under Part B in the Schedule to the Act does not form part of the moneys issued out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund for the said period ..
