GOVERNOR’S SALARY AND ALLOWANCES ACT
(Acts 10 of 1974, 2 of 1998 and 5 of 2007)
AN ACT TO REGULATE THE SALARY AND ALLOWANCES ATTACHED TO THE OFFICE OF GOVERNOR OF MONTSERRAT.
Commencement
[1 January 1974]
Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Governor’s and Salary and Allowances
Act.
Salary and Allowances of the Governor 2. There shall be charged on the Consolidated Fund of Montserrat
without further appropriation and paid there out to the holder of the Office of Governor the salary and (save where some other person is performing the function of that office under and by virtue of the Montserrat Constitution Order 1989) the allowances specified in the Schedule to this Act or such salary and allowances as the Legislative Council may from time to time by law provide in substitution therefor:
Provided that neither the salary nor the allowances of the Governor shall be reduced during his continuance in Office.
Amendment of Schedule 3. The Governor in Council may by Order amend the Schedule: Provided that an Order made under this section shall be of no effect
until it has been approved by a Resolution of the Legislative Council. (Inserted by Act 5 of 2007)
