2.1.1. to represent the Republic of Lithuania in the meetings of the Parties of the Stockholm Convention of 22 May 2001 on Persistent Organic Pollutants (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Stockholm Convention’), in working groups of the Council of the European Union, Committee for General Affairs and Waste Affairs committee in all matters related to Regulation (EC) No 850/2004;

2.1.2. within the area of its competence to cooperate with the European Commission, competent authorities of the Member States of the European Union and third parties as well as the Stockholm Convention Secretariat, provide information to the European Commission, the Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention and other Parties in accordance with the procedures set out in Regulation (EC) No 850/2004 and the Stockholm Convention;

2.1.3. to coordinate the activities of the Ministries of the Republic of Lithuania and other authorities relating to the implementation of provisions of Regulation (EC) No 850/2004 and the Stockholm Convention, to coordinate and prepare programs and plans, draft national legislation on the management of persistent organic pollutants (chemical substances) for the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 850/2004 and the Stockholm Convention;

2.1.4. to determine the competence and operational mechanism of the administrative units and subsidiary bodies of the Ministry of Environment for carrying out the tasks referred to in points 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.2.1 and 2.3.1 of this Resolution by 31 March 2015;

2.2.1. to represent the Republic of Lithuania in the meetings of the competent authorities responsible for the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 850/2004;

2.2.2. within the area of its competence to cooperate with the European Commission, and competent authorities of the Member States of the European Union, submit information to the European Commission and other  institutions in accordance with the rules of procedure for the meetings of competent authorities and the procedures laid down in Regulation (EC) No 850/2004;

2.2.3. to collect, process and submit data to the Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention, the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee and other technical subsidiary bodies of the Stockholm Convention on production, use and placing on the market of persistent organic pollutants (substances), mixtures and articles containing them, sources of pollution from persistent organic pollutants, stockpile and waste containing persistent organic pollutants, their management and disposal, areas polluted with persistent organic pollutants (pollution of surface water, groundwater, soil and subsoil) and their sound management, monitoring data on persistent organic pollutants in the environmental compartments;

2.2.4. to carry out environmental risk assessment of persistent organic pollutants;

2.3.1. to participate in technical expert meetings on management of persistent organic pollutants;

2.3.2. within the area of its competence to perform monitoring of persistent organic pollutants and manage data bases of persistent organic pollutants;

2.8.1. to carry out controls of import and export of persistent organic pollutants under Regulation (EC) No 850/2004 and in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) No 649/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 July 2012 concerning the export and import of hazardous chemicals (OJ L 201, 2012, p. 60);

2.8.2. to carry out controls of import and export of waste containing persistent organic pollutants in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 850/2004 and taking into account the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2006 on shipments of waste (OJ L 190, 2006, p. 1), as last amended by Regulation (EU) No 1257/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council (OL L 2013 330, p. 1);
