The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania,
recalling that in July 2014 Ukrainian Air Force pilot Nadiya Savchenko was illegally detained in Ukraine and transferred to the Russian Federation where she is unjustly imprisoned, and that her health condition is deteriorating due to her being on hunger strike for a long period;
noting that Nadiya Savchenko was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the early election of 26 October 2014 but has not had an opportunity to represent her voters so far;
regretting that the international community’s attempts to release Nadiya Savchenko have so far not proven successful;
states that the illegal imprisonment of Ukrainian air force pilot Nadiya Savchenko in the Russian Federation is a serious violation of international law and that the refusal of the Russian Federation to hand her over to Ukraine is blatant breach of the Minsk Agreements;
supports the initiative of the members of the main political groups of the European Parliament to draw up the list of officials responsible for illegal detention and imprisonment of Nadiya Savchenko and to adopt it at the EU level, as well as to impose personal sanctions against these officials;
urges the national Parliaments of the Member States of the European Union and NATO to support the initiative to draw up the “Nadiya Savchenko List” and promote actions of the governments of their respective states and the European Union institutions in this direction;
calls on the international community for responsible evaluation of this and other gross violations of human rights committed by the authorities of the Russian Federation, and invites to join efforts to further seek the immediate release of Nadiya Savchenko and other Ukrainian citizens illegally held in the Russian Federation and their safe return to their homeland.
