ON THE DESIGNATION OF INSTITUTIONS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE JOINT CONVENTION ON THE SAFETY OF SPENT FUEL MANAGEMENT AND ON THE SAFETY OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE MANAGEMENT

Acting pursuant to Article 2 of the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on the Ratification of the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management (Valstybės Žinios (Official Gazette) No 36-1176, 2004), the Government of the Republic of Lithuania has resolved:
 
1. To designate the State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Economy to implement, within the scope of their competences, the provisions of Chapters 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management (Valstybės Žinios (Official Gazette) No 36-1186, 2004) and to provide the State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate with information required for the preparation of national reports.
 
2. To charge the State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate with preparing national reports as provided in Article 32 of the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management and submit them to review meetings of the Contracting Parties.
