RESOLUTION

 

 

ON THE PARTICIPATION OF THE LITHUANIAN MILITARY UNITS ASSIGNED TO THE NATO RESPONSE FORCE AND OF THE LITHUANIAN SERVICEMEN ASSIGNED TO NATO MILITARY HEADQUARTERS IN THE INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS APPROVED BY THE NORTH ATLANTIC COUNCIL

The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, invoking paragraph 1 of Article 142 of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, paragraph 2 of Article 4 and paragraphs 2 and 5 of Article 6 of the Law on International Operations, Military Exercises and Other Military Events and paragraph 3 of Article 42 of the Law on the Organisation of the National Defence System and Military Service and having regard to the concept of the NATO Response Force and service of Lithuanian servicemen in NATO command structures as well as to Decree No. 183 of the President of the Republic of 29 December 2004, h a s  r e s o l v e d:

Article 1.

Upon the taking of a decision by the North Atlantic Council on the use of the military NATO Response Force and/or NATO command structures in a NATO-led international operation, to dispatch up to 75 Lithuanian servicemen and civil servants assigned to the armed forces to participate in the operation in the region specified by the decision of the North Atlantic Council.

 

Article 2.

The Resolution shall enter into force on the day of its adoption and be valid until 30 September 2006.
