2.4.3. Trilateral conference of the Nordic Council, Baltic Assembly and Benelux Parliament
 
Trilateral conference of the Nordic Council, Baltic Assembly and Benelux Parliament took place on 18–19 May in Copenhagen (Denmark). From the total amount of funds allocated for trilateral conference, EUR 3,191 were spent.
 
 
2.4.4. Annual summit of the Baltic Assembly and the Nordic Council 2016
 
The annual summit of the Baltic Assembly and the Nordic Council planned took place on 28–30 November in Reykjavik (Iceland). From the total amount of funds allocated for the annual summit, EUR 1,646 were spent.
 
 
2.4.5. Participation in the activities of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference (BSPC) and cooperation with the Baltic Sea organisations
 
The following meetings of the BSPC Standing Committee, the BSPC working groups, and the BSPC Secretariat took place:
 
-     meeting of the BSPC Secretariat: 7–8 January, Berlin (Germany);
-     meeting of the BSPC Working Group on sustainable tourism: 20–21 March, Helsinki (Finland);
-     visit of the BSPC Standing Committee to Belarus: 12–14 April, Minsk (Belarus);
-     participation in the European Maritime Day: 17–19 May, Turku (Finland);
-     meeting of the BSPC Standing Committee: 26–27 May, Liepāja (Latvia);
-     meeting of the BSPC Working Group on sustainable tourism: 19–22 June, Petrozavodsk (Russia);
-     meeting of the BSPC Secretariat: 6–7 October, Stockholm (Sweden);
-     meeting of the BSPC Standing Committee: 14–15 November, Hamburg (Germany);
-     pre-payment for the meeting of the BSPC Secretariat: 5–6 January 2017, Berlin (Germany);
-     pre-payment for the meeting of the BSPC Standing Committee and BSPC Working Group on sustainable tourism: 22–24 January 2017, Brussels (Belgium).
From the total amount of funds allocated for participation in the activities of the BSPC and cooperation with the Baltic Sea organisations, EUR 5,822 were spent.
 
 
2.4.6. Cooperation with the Nordic Council
 
The following joint events took place:
-     participation of the delegation from the Nordic Council and NordForsk in the meeting of the BA Education, Science and Culture Committee: 2–3 June, Tartu (Estonia);
-     participation in the seminar of the Nordic Council: 31 August, Stockholm (Sweden);
-     Baltic Assembly and Nordic Council of Ministers Conference: 10–11 November, Tallinn (Estonia);
-     seminar of the Nordic Council and Baltic Assembly about Belarus: 5 December, Vilnius (Lithuania).
From the total amount of funds allocated for cooperation with the Nordic Council, EUR 8,310 were spent.
 
2.4.7. Cooperation with the Benelux Parliament
The following joint events took place:
-     on 18–19 March in Brussels (Belgium), conference of the Benelux Parliament was held;
-     on 6–8 October in Esch-Belval (Luxembourg), conference of the Benelux Parliament was held.
From the total amount of funds allocated for cooperation, EUR 1,443 were spent.
 
2.4.8. Cooperation with the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly and other partners within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy
The following activities were covered from this position:
-     participation of the GUAM PA delegations in the meeting of the Natural Resources and Environment Committee and Economics, Energy and Innovation Committee: 3–4 March, Tallinn (Estonia);
-     participation in the 5th Session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly: 22–23 March, Brussels (Belgium);
-     participation of the GUAM PA delegations in the meeting of the BA Welfare Committee: 7–8 April, Vilnius (Lithuania);
-     participation of the GUAM PA delegation in the meeting of the BA – BCM Conference: 12–13 May, Rīga (Latvia);
-     participation of the GUAM PA delegations in the meeting of the BA Legal Affairs and Security and Economics, Energy and Innovation Committee: 19–20 May, Tallinn (Estonia);
-     participation in the SEECP PA Session: 10–11 June, Sofia (Bulgaria);
-     participation in the GUAM PA Session: 13–16 December, Baku (Azerbaijan).
From the total amount of funds allocated for cooperation with the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly and other partners within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy, EUR 5,125 were spent.
 
 
2.5. Informative activities and other events
 
From the total amount of funds allocated for the informative activities, EUR 5,215 were spent.
 
 
 
2.5.1. Baltic Assembly medals
 
A total of nine medals were produced. From the total amount of funds allocated for production of the medals, their folders and certificates, as well as travel and hotel expenses for receivers of the BA medals, EUR 2,127 were spent.
 
 
 
2.5.2. Baltic Assembly website
 
From the total amount of funds allocated for the maintenance and update of the website www.baltasam.org, EUR 927 were spent.
 
 
 
2.5.3. Baltic Assembly basketball tournament
 
The Baltic Assembly basketball tournament was cancelled. From the total amount of funds allocated for the tournament, EUR 2 were spent for postal services.
 
 
2.5.4. Informative materials
From the total amount of funds allocated for this position, EUR 2,159 were spent for production of souvenirs, flags, folders and informative brochures.
 
 
 
2.6. Baltic Assembly prizes for literature, the arts and science, and the Baltic Innovation Prize
The Baltic Assembly awards its prizes annually (monetary prize, certificate and statuette). Meetings of the national juries were held in Tallinn (Estonia), Rīga (Latvia) and Vilnius (Lithuania), and a meeting of the Joint Jury was held on 26–27 September in Rīga (Latvia). The award ceremony took place on 28 October 2016 in Rīga (Latvia). From the total amount of funds allocated for the Baltic Assembly prizes and the Baltic Innovation Prize, EUR 55,246 were spent.
 
2.7. Secretariat of the Baltic Assembly
From the total amount of funds allocated for the Secretariat, EUR 71,999 were spent. These expenditures include salaries for the staff members of the Secretariat, rent of the premises, office equipment, public utilities, communications, stationery, software, annual office insurance, repairs, postal services and other services, as well as unplanned expenses.
 
 
2.8. Unplanned expenses
From the total amount of funds allocated for unplanned expenses, EUR 343 were spent on changes in currency exchange rates and commission fees for money transfers.
