Architects (Registration) (General Provisions) (Jersey) Order 2011

THE MINISTER FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, in pursuance of Article 3 of the Architects (Registration) (Jersey) Law 1954[1], orders as follows –

1      Interpretation

In this Order –

“1997 Act” means the Architects Act 1997 (c.22) of the United Kingdom;

“principal Law” means the Architects (Registration) (Jersey) Law 1954[2].

2      Requirements for registration

The requirements for registration of a person as an architect under the principal Law are that the person is registered in Part 1 of the Register maintained pursuant to section 4 of the 1997 Act and that his or her registration is not suspended.

3      Application for registration

An application for registration under the principal Law shall –

(a)     state the applicant’s full name, home address and business address; and

(b)     be accompanied by –

(i)     a certificate signed by the Registrar of Architects appointed under the 1997 Act, stating that the applicant is registered in Part 1 of the Register maintained pursuant to section 4 of the 1997 Act, and

(ii)    a copy of the applicant’s passport certified, by an advocate or solicitor practising in Jersey or by a person practising as a barrister or solicitor in another jurisdiction, as a true copy of the original and as a true likeness of the applicant.

4      Citation

This Order may be cited as the Architects (Registration) (General Provisions) (Jersey) Order 2011.
