Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Jersey) Law 1978

A LAW to enable the parties to a marriage to sue each other in tort, and to extend the period within which proceedings may be instituted for certain offences

Commencement [see endnotes]

1      Actions in tort between husband and wife

Each of the parties to a marriage shall have the like right of action in tort against the other as if they were not married:

Provided that this Article shall not apply to any cause of action which arose, or would but for the subsistence of a marriage have arisen, before the commencement of this Law.

2      Citation

This Law may be cited as the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Jersey) Law 1978.
