1. This Act may be cited as the Judicial Proceedings shorttih
(Regulation of Reports) Act.

2. A person shall not print or publish or cause or permit bslriction
to be printed or published, in relation to any judicial tionof
proceedings for dissolution of marriage, nullity of marriage, "&!of
judicial separation or restitution of conjugal rights, any Wcia l
particulars other than, subject to section 3, the following-

(d the names, addresses and occupation of the parties
and witnesses;

(b) the grounds of-

on publico-

(i) the petition or application; and
(ii) any defence or counter-charge,

in support of which evidence has been given;
(cl submissions on any point of law arising in the

course of the proceedings and the decision of the
court thereon; and

(d) the judgment of the court and any observations
made by the judge in giving judgment.

3. Any printing or publication permitted pursuant to sec-
tion 2 or section 6 (c) or (d shall have regard to any rnrrict

4. A person who contravenes the provisions of this Act
i s guilty of an offence m.d liable on summary conviction
before a Resident Magistrate to a fine not exceeding five
thousand d o I k or to imprisonment for a term not exceed-
ing six months, or to both such fine and imprisonment.

5. No prosecution for an offence against this Act shall
be cornill-nced by any person unless the Director of Public
Prosecutions consents thereto.

6. Nothing in this Act shall apply to-
(U) the prmting of any pleading, transcript of evidence

or other document for use in connection with any
judicial proceedings or the communication thereof
to persons cmcerned in such judicial procRdings;

(b) the printing or publishing of any notice or report
pursuant to a direction of the court;

(c) the printing or publishing in any separate volume
or part of any bona fide series of law reports of
any matter which does not form part of any other
publication and, subject to section 3, consists solely
of reports of proceedings in courts of law;

(d) the printing or publishing of any matter. subject
to section 3. in anv Dublication of a technical cha-
racter bona fide intended for circulation among
members of the legal or medical profession; or

(e) the printing or publishing of any extract from law
reports referred to in paragraph (d or from any
publication referred to in paragraph (4.
