AN ACT
to remove doubts as to the meaning of expressions relative to Time.
1 Time means Greenwich mean time

Whenever any expression of time occurs or shall occur in any Act of Tynwald,
deed, or other instrument, or when any time is appointed for the holding of any
Court, or of any meeting, the time so named or referred to shall, unless it is
otherwise specifically stated, be held to be Greenwich mean time.
2 Proviso as to Tynwald Court on fifth July

Whenever in any Act of Tynwald or in any instrument whatever, anything is or
shall be appointed to be done at the Tynwald Court ordinarily held yearly on
the fifth day of July, or such Court is referred to for any purpose, such day shall
be deemed to mean the sixth day of July whenever the fifth day of July falls on
Sunday and the seventh day of July whenever the fifth day of July falls on a
Saturday, and to include every day to which the said court may be adjourned.1

3 Short title

This Act may be cited as ‘The Statutory Time, et cetera, Act, 1883’.
