I, TOM KITT, Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 4 and 25 (1) of the Statistics Act 1993 (No. 21 of 1993) and the Statistics (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2004 ( S.I. No. 664 of 2004 ), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Statistics (Prices) Order 2004.
(2) This Order applies to an undertaking, employing 10 or more persons, that is engaged in buying and selling goods and services in the manufacturing, wholesale, mining and quarrying, electricity, gas and water supply, construction and service sectors.

3. (1) An undertaking to which this Order applies is prescribed as an undertaking required to provide the Central Statistics Office with information relating to input and output prices, distinguishing, where appropriate, imports and exports. The general nature of such information is set out in the Schedule to this Order.
(2) In this Article—
“input price” means the price paid for goods and services purchased within or outside the State by an undertaking;
“output price” means the price received for goods and services sold within or outside the State by an undertaking.

4. The Central Statistics Office shall be provided, in accordance with directions under section 26 of the Statistics Act 1993 (No. 21 of 1993), with the information referred to in Article 3 of this Order in statistical form pursuant to a monthly survey undertaken by the Office.

5. The Statistics (Output Prices) Order 2001 ( S.I. No. 483 of 2001 ) is revoked.
SCHEDULE
Article 3(1)

1. Transaction prices for each month in respect of specified goods and services.
2. Particulars of the goods and services to be priced which will be reviewed from time to time, i.e. description, terms of purchase or sale, country of purchase or sale, discount or surcharges, currency of purchase or sale.
