Private Security Services Act 2004 (Commencement) (Section 37) (Part) Order 2007
I, Michael McDowell, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(2) of the Private Security Services Act 2004 (No. 12 of 2004), order as follows:

1.        (1)      This Order may be cited as the Private Security Services Act 2004 (Commencement) (Section 37) (Part) Order 2007.

2.        In this Order -
“Act” means the Private Security Services Act 2004;
“door supervisor (licensed premises)” means an individual who provides security services as a door supervisor at or in the vicinity of licensed premises;
“security guard (static)” means an individual who as a security guard guards property for the purposes of preventing loss, damage or waste by crime, fire, carelessness or flood.

3.        The 1st April 2007 is fixed as the day on which section 37 of the Act comes into operation for the purposes of its application in relation to a door supervisor (licensed premises) or security guard (static).
