IRISH MEDICINES BOARD (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT 2006 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER 2009
Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in
“Iris Oifigiúil” of 3rd March, 2009.
I, MARY HARNEY, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(7) of the Irish Medicines Board (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006 (No. 3 of 2006), hereby order as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Irish Medicines Board (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006 (Commencement) Order 2009.
2. The 27th day of February 2009 is appointed as the day on which section 26 of the Irish Medicines Board (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006 (No. 3 of 2006) shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order may be cited as the Irish Medicines Board (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006 (Commencement) Order 2009.
This Order commences section 26 of the Irish Medicines Board (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006 . The effect of this commencement is to amend section 59(2) of the Health Act 1970 . This enables reimbursement for drugs prescribed by nurses under the Drugs Payment Scheme.
