I, BRIAN LENIHAN T.D., Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of, and paragraph 1(13) of the First Schedule to, the Ethics in Public Office Act 1995 (No. 22 of 1995) and, in relation to each body, organisation or group prescribed for the purposes of that paragraph by the following regulations, being of the opinion that, in the public interest and having regard to the provisions and spirit of that Act, each of them ought to be prescribed, and after consultation with such other Ministers of the Government as I consider appropriate, hereby make the following regulations:
1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Ethics in Public Office (Prescribed Public Bodies, Designated Directorships of Public Bodies and Designated Positions in Public Bodies) (Amendment) Regulations 2010.
(2) These Regulations are deemed to come into operation on 1 January 2010.
2. The Ethics in Public Office (Prescribed Public Bodies, Designated Directorships of Public Bodies, and Designated Positions in Public Bodies) Regulations 2004 ( S.I. No. 699 of 2004 ), are amended:
(a) in Regulation 8 (inserted by Regulation 2 of the Ethics in Public Office (Prescribed Public Bodies, Designated Directorships of Public Bodies and Designated Positions in Public Bodies) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 ( S.I. No. 607 of 2008 )), by substituting—
(i) for paragraph (c) the following—
“(c) Urban Partnerships;”,
and
(ii) for paragraph (y) the following—
“(y) Integrated Local Development Companies;”,
and
(b) by substituting for the Schedule (as amended by the Ethics in Public Office (Prescribed Public Bodies, Designated Directorships of Public Bodies and Designated Positions in Public Bodies) (Amendment) Regulations 2009 ( S.I. No. 320 of 2009 )), the following:

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)
These regulations are made under the Ethics in Public Office Act 1995 (No. 22 of 1995) to apply the provisions of the Act to persons holding or occupying specified directorships and positions in the Public Service (other than in the Civil Service). The Regulations prescribe certain directorships and positions of employment in the Public Service as either “designated directorships” or “designated positions of employment” as referred to in Sections 17 and 18 of the Act, respectively. Persons holding directorships or occupying positions prescribed in these regulations are required to furnish a statement of registrable interests (as defined in the Second Schedule to the Act) to such officer or relevant authority (as defined in Sections 17 and 18 of the Act) as determined by the Minister for Finance. Where no registrable interests exist, a nil statement is requested. Persons holding directorships prescribed
as “designated directorships”, are also required to furnish a statement of registrable interests, or, where appropriate, are requested to furnish a statement of nil interests, to the Standards in Public Office Commission.
Details of the officer or relevant authority in each of the public bodies, as determined by the Minister for Finance, will be available in an Appendix to the Standards in Public Office Commission’s “Guidelines on Compliance with the Provisions of the Ethics in Public Office Acts 1995 and 2001 — Public Servants”.
