RESEARCH (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2002

An Act to amend the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and

Research Act, 1998.



BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-third Year of the Republic of

India as follows:-


1.
Short title.



1. Short title.-This Act may be called the National Institute of

Pharmaceutical Education and Research (Amendment) Act, 2002.

Amendment of section 4 of Act 13 of 1998.



2. Amendment of section 4 of Act 13 of 1998.-In section 4 of the

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Act, 1998,

in sub-section (4), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-



"Provided that the term of office of a member nominated under clause

(o) of sub-section (3) shall come to an end as soon as he becomes a

Minister or Minister of State or Deputy Minister, or the Speaker or

the Deputy Speaker of the House of the People, or the Deputy Chairman

of the Council of States, or ceases to be a member of the House from

which he was nominated.".
