This regulation is established based on clause 13 4) of the Organisation of Research and Development Act.

§ 1.  Scope of application of the regulation

The purpose of this regulation is to establish the nomenclature of the fields and subfields of research and development.

§ 2.  Fields of Research and Development

The fields of research and development are:
1) Life Sciences and Environmental Sciences;
2) Culture and Society;
3) Health;
4) Natural Sciences and Engineering.

§ 3.  Subfields of Research and Development

(1) Subfields of research and development in the field of Life Sciences and Environmental Sciences are:
1) Biochemistry;
2) Microbiology;
3) Genetics;
4) Ecology, Biosystematics and Biophysiology;
5) Forest Sciences;
6) Agricultural Sciences;
7) Food Sciences;
8) Research related to the State of the Environment and Environmental Protection;
9) Research into Substances Hazardous to the Environment;
10) Geography and Regional Studies;
11) Research related to Environmental Policy, Environmental Economy and Environmental Law;
12) Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biophysics, Economic and Technological Research related to Life Sciences and Environmental Sciences.
(2) Subfields of research and development in the field of Culture and Society are:
1) Philosophy;
2) Theology;
3) History and Archaeology;
4) Cultures Research;
5) Aesthetics and Arts Research;
6) Philology and Linguistics
7) Law;
8) Psychology;
9) Special didactics;
10) Educational Sciences;
11) Social Sciences;
12) Economics;
13) Political Science and Administration;
14) Communication and Information Sciences.
(3) Subfields of research and development in the field of Health are:
1) Biomedicine;
