Chief Inspector Qualifications Regulations

made under clause 40(1)(k) of the

Animal Protection Act

S.N.S. 2008, c. 33

Citation

1     These regulations may be cited as the Chief Inspector Qualifications Regulations.

Definition

2     In these regulations, “Act” means the Animal Protection Act.

Minimum qualifications for appointment as Chief Inspector

3     In addition to the requirements in the Act for appointing a person as Chief Inspector, the following are prescribed as the minimum qualifications to be met by a person appointed as Chief Inspector:

 

                (a)    the person must have earned a high school diploma or the equivalent;

 

                (b)    the person must have a valid driver’s licence;

 

                (c)    the person must have experience handling and training animals; and

 

                (d)    the person must demonstrate that they have the necessary investigatory skills and knowledge to act as Chief Inspector.
