Fair Trading Act
EXEMPTION REGULATION Insurance
1   In Parts 2 and 4 of the Fair Trading Act and in any regulations made under those Parts,
                                 (a)    “goods”, “services” and “consumer transaction” do not include insurance to which the Insurance Act applies;
                                 (b)    “supplier” does not include an insurer or reciprocal insurance exchange licensed under the Insurance Act or a person acting under a certificate of authority issued under the Insurance Act.
Expiry
2   For the purpose of ensuring that this Regulation is reviewed for ongoing relevancy and necessity, with the option that it may be repassed in its present or an amended form following a review, this Regulation expires on September 1, 2020.

Coming into force
3   This Regulation comes into force on September 1, 1999.
