Regulations Respecting the Stabilization of the Price of Canola for the 1989 Period
P.C. 1991-603  1991-03-27Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and the Treasury Board, pursuant to sections 2Footnote *, 10Footnote ** and 14 of the Agricultural Stabilization Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the stabilization of the price of canola for the 1989 period.

Short Title

1 These Regulations may be cited as the Canola 1989 Period Stabilization Regulations.

Interpretation

2 In these Regulations,

Act
Act means the Agricultural Stabilization Act; (Loi)
canola
canola means canola, as defined in section 2 of the Seed Regulations, that is grown in Canada outside the designated area, as defined in the Canadian Wheat Board Act, and sold by a producer in the 1989 period; (colza)
period
period means, in respect of a year, the period beginning on July 1 of that year and ending on June 30 of the following year. (période)

Designated Commodity

3 Canola is hereby designated as an agricultural commodity for the purposes of the Act.

Prescribed Percentage

4 For the purpose of determining the prescribed price of canola for the 1989 period, the percentage of the base price of canola is hereby prescribed to be 90 per cent.
