The Minister responsible for marine and ports services, in exercise of the powers
conferred by section 10(1)(aa) and (b) of the Marine Board Act 1962, gives the following
Notice:
Citation
This Notice may be cited as the Marine Board (Control Over Maritime Traffic) (No.
2) Notice 2014.
Power Boat Closed Circuit Race
The Power Boat Closed Circuit Race will be held on Sunday 18 May 2014.
Closure of certain areas of water
The Race will be held in the areas specified below and such areas will be closed to
normal marine traffic from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.—
the area of waters between No. 1 Dock and No. 6 Dock out to a distance of
approximately 500 feet; and
the area of waters from No. 8 Dock to World’s End Shoal Channel Marker
to Reid Island to White’s Island and thence back to No. 8 Dock.

Speed limits not to apply
The general speed limit for persons navigating a boat, set out in paragraph 2 of the
Marine Board (Declaration of Speed Limits for Boats) (Mariners) Notice 2001, shall not apply
to persons participating in the Race.
Caution to be exercised by mariners
All mariners, pilots, and boatmen approaching the area of waters specified in
paragraph 3 are required to exercise extreme caution, and shall observe a five-knot no wake
restriction and in any event shall ensure they do not create a wake.
Patrol of course
Marshall boats will patrol the area of waters specified in paragraph 3 during the
Race.
