Commencement and saving

The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the power conferred by section 2 of the
Government Fees Act 1965, makes the following Regulations:

Citation
These Regulations, which amend the Government Fees Regulations 1976 (“the

principal Regulations”) may be cited as the Government Fees Amendment (No. 2)
Regulations 2011.

Replaces Heads 24 and 25
Heads 24 and 25 of the principal Regulations (Explosive Substances Act 1974 and

Firearms Act 1973) are revoked and replaced as follows—

Explosive Substances Act 1974

(1) Issuing—

(a) a blasting licence under section 6 $750
(b) a blasting permit under section 7 $75
(c) a magazine licence under section 8 $500

(d) a special licence under section 9 $281

(e) a fireworks display licence under section 10 $250

(f) a permit to manufacture explosives undersection 5(2)(f) $1,086

Head 25
Firearms Act 1973

(1) Issuing the following annual licences—
(a) a licence to possess, purchase, acquire or

import a firearm under section 5 $250

(b) a gun licence for a firearm or ammunition to
which section 7(1)(a) applies Nil

(c) any other gun licence under section 7 (except
under section 7(1)(a)) $250

(d) an ammunition licence under section 6 $250
(e) a rifle club licence under section 8 $250
(f) a firearm dealer’s licence under section 10 $500
(g) a firearm or ammunition licence issued to a

registered charitable organisation under
section 5 or 6

Nil

(2) Issuing a temporary firearm licence under section5 $21

(3) Issuing a removal permit under section 14 $100 ”.

Amends Head 30
In Head 30 of the principal Regulations (Liquor Licence Act 1974), in paragraph (2)

(fee for issuing crown and anchor permit) delete “$1,284” and substitute “$1,500”.

Amends Head 45
In Head 45 of the principal Regulations (Private Investigators and Security Guards

Act 1974)—

in paragraph (1) (fee for licence to engage in business of providing private
investigators or security guards), delete “$908” and substitute “$1,000”;

in paragraph (2) (fee for licence to act as private investigator or security
guard), delete “$68” and substitute “$100”;

after paragraph (2) insert—

(3) Fee for an appeal under section 8 $250

”.

Amends Head 57
In Head 57 of the principal Regulations (Royal Prerogative), at the end of paragraph

(14) insert—

“ (c) for the grant of a visa waiver to nationals on
the visa controlled nationals list

$200
”.

Inserts Head 58A
After Head 58 of the principal Regulations, insert—

“ Head 58A
Summary Offences Act 1926

(1) Issuing a noise permit under section 7 $250 ”.

Amends the Supply of Information for Civil Proceedings Regulations 1968
The Supply of Information for Civil Proceedings Regulations 1968 are amended as

follows—

in regulation 5(1) (fee for supply of information by police about traffic
accident etc), delete “four dollars and eighty cents” and substitute “$100”;

in regulation 5(2) (refund of half of fee where no information found), delete
“two dollars and forty cents” and substitute “half”;

in regulations 9 and 11 (fee for interview of police officer and supply of proof
of evidence) delete “two dollars and forty cents” (in each place) and
substitute “$100”.

Commencement and saving
These Regulations come into operation on 1 April 2011.

But nothing in these Regulations affects the validity of a fee that is paid before
1 April 2011.
