BERMUDA HOSPITALS BOARD AMENDMENT ACT 2005

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Bermuda Hospitals
Board Act 1970:

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short title
1 This Act, which amends the Bermuda Hospitals Board Act 1970
(the "principal Act"), may be cited as the Bermuda Hospitals Board
Amendment Act 2005.

Amends section 4
3 Section 4 of the principal Act is amended by repealing
subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection โ€•

"(1) The Board shall consist ofโ€”

(a) the Chief of Staff, the Chief Medical Officer and the
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry responsible for
Health, ex-officio non-voting members;

(b) the President of the [Women's Hospital Auxiliary] and
one person nominated for appointment by the [trustees
of the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust], both ex-
officio voting members; and

(c) in addition, not less than five or more than sixteen
members, each of whom shall be appointed by the
Minister by notice published in the Gazette.โ€.

Amends section 5
3 Section 5(4) of the principal Act is amended by deleting "three"
and substituting "six";
