BERMUDA HOSPITALS BOARD (HOSPITAL FEES)
AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2001



The Bermuda Hospitals Board, with the approval of the Minister
of Health and Family Services, in exercise of the power conferred upon it
by section 13 of the Bermuda Hospitals Board Act 1970 makes the
following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
1 These Regulations which amend the Bermuda Hospitals Board
(Hospital Fees) Regulations 1980 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal
Regulations”) may be cited as the Bermuda Hospitals Board (Hospital
Fees) Amendment Regulations 2001 and shall come into operation on 1
April 2001.

Amends regulation 4 of principal Regulations
2 Regulation 4 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting
“$365.00” and substituting “$375.00”.

Revokes and replaces Schedules 1 and 2
3 Schedules 1 and 2 to the principal Regulations are revoked and
replaced by the following―

“SCHEDULE 1
IN-PATIENT TREATMENT
PART A Residents’ Rates



1 The general per diem rate for patients, other than new-born
infants, patients classified as geriatric, shall be $669 for public ward
accommodation, $799 for semi-private accommodation and $961 for
private accommodation.

2 The per diem rate for patients classified as geriatric shall be
$258.

3 The per diem rate for new-born infants shall be $258.

4 The per diem rate for hospice care shall be $348.

PART B Non-Residents’ Rates

The general per diem rate for patients who are non-residents shall be as
follows―

(a) for public ward accommodation $1,169

(b) for semi-private accommodation $1,396

(c) for private accommodation $1,684

(d) for nursery $ 453

(e) for patients classified as geriatric $ 453

(f) for St. Brendan’s Hospital $ 660
