THE MARINE BOARD (SAFETY) REGULATIONS 1993

THE MARINE BOARD (SAFETY) (EXEMPTION) NOTICE 1998

The Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by
regulation 11 of the Marine Board (Safety) Regulations 1993, gives the
following Notice:

Citation
1 This Notice may be cited as the Marine Board (Safety)
(Exemption) Notice 1998.

Non-application
2 (1) Regulations 5(1)(a) and 6(1)(a) of the Marine Board (Safety)
Regulations 1993 shall not apply to a boat of less than 40 feet operated
under the auspices of the Triangle Swim Club—

(a) for the purpose of ferrying swimmers participating in the
Trunk Island Swim;

(b) in Harrington Sound between Palmetto Bay Hotel and
Trunk Island; and

(c) on 16 August, 1998 between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

(2) In the event of inclement weather on 16 August 1998, the
provisions of paragraph (1) shall have effect on 23 August 1998 or, in the

event of inclement weather on that date, on such other later date as the
Trunk Island Swim takes place.
