CONTRIBUTORY PENSIONS (AMENDMENT OF
CONTRIBUTIONS AND BENEFITS) ORDER 1998

The Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by
section 37(1) of the Contributory Pensions Act 1970, makes the following
Order:

Citation
1 This Order may be cited as the Contributory Pensions
(Amendment of Contributions and Benefits) Order 1998.

Amends Act and Second and Third Schedules to Act
2 With effect from 16 August 1998, the Contributory Pensions Act
1970 is amended as follows:

(a) in section 13(1), for the words "sixty-six dollars and
twenty-five cents" substitute the words "sixty-eight
dollars and twenty-four cents" and in the proviso to
section 13(1), for the words "sixty-eight dollars and
seventeen cents" substitute the words "seventy dollars
and twenty-one cents";

(b) in section 17A, for the symbol and figures "$96.22"
substitute the symbol and figures "$99.11";

(c) in section 17B, for the symbol and figures "$66.25"
substitute the symbol and figures "$68.24";

(d) in the Second Schedule—

(ii) in paragraph 2, for the words "eighty-four cents"
substitute the words "eighty-six cents";

(iii) in the proviso to paragraph 3, for the symbol
and figures "$68.17" substitute the symbol and
figures "$70.21";

(e) in the Third Schedule—

(i) in paragraph 1, for the symbol and figures
"$144.37" substitute the symbol and figures
"$148.70";

(ii) in the proviso to paragraph 2, for the symbol
and figures "$68.17" substitute the symbol and
figures "$70.21";

(iii) in paragraph 3(1), for the symbol and figures
"$14.41" substitute the symbol and figures

Amends First Schedule to Act
3 With effect from 3 August 1998, the First Schedule to the
Contributory Pensions Act 1970 is amended as follows:

(a) for the symbol and figures "$20.72" wherever they
appear substitute the symbol and figures "$21.34"; and

(b) for the symbol and figures "$41.44" substitute the
symbol and figures "$42.68".
