THE MERCHANT SHIPPING (PREVENTION OF POLLUTION BY
GARBAGE) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 1996

The Governor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by
article 2 of the Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution by Garbage)
Order 1988* of the United Kingdom, as modified and extended to
Bermuda by the Merchant Shipping (Prevention and Control of Pollution)
(Bermuda) Order 1992, makes the following Regulations:—

Citation
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping
(Prevention of Pollution by Garbage) Amendment Regulations 1996.

Modification of SI 1993 No. 1681
2 (1) The Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution by Garbage)
Regulations 1988**, as amended, for the time being in force under article
2(1) of the Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution by Garbage) Order
1988 as it applies in the United Kingdom shall, subject to the further
modification specified in paragraph (2), be deemed to be amended by the
Governor under article 2 of the Merchant Shipping (Prevention of
Pollution by Garbage) Order 1988 as extended to Bermuda.

GARBAGE) REGULATIONS 1993

(2) The Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution by Garbage)
Regulations 1988, as amended, are modified in regulation 6A, by deleting
the words "United Kingdom" and substituting the word "Bermuda".
