AMENDMENT NOTICE 1993

The Minister in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by
section 22A of the Merchant Shipping Act 1979 gives the following
Notice:

1 This Notice may be cited as the Merchant Shipping Act 1979
(Fifth Schedule) Amendment Notice 1993.

Amends Fifth Schedule
2 The Fifth Schedule to the Merchant Shipping Act 1979 is
amended as follows:

(a) insert under the heading PASSENGER SHIP
CONSTRUCTION and immediately after the Merchant
Shipping (Passenger Ship Construction) (Amendment
No. 2) Regulations 1987 the following:

"S I 1992 No 2358 The Merchant Shipping
(Passenger Ship Construction
and Survey) (Amendment)
Regulations 1992";

(b) insert under the heading FIRE APPLIANCES AND FIRE
PROTECTION and immediately after the Merchant

Shipping (Fire Protection and Fire Appliances)
(Amendment) Regulations 1986 the following:

"S I 1992 No 2360 The Merchant Shipping (Fire
Protection) (Amendment) Regu-
lations 1992";

(c) insert immediately above NAVIGATIONAL EQUIPMENT
the following:

"SIGNALS OF DISTRESS
S I 1992 No 1582 The Merchant Shipping (Signals

of Distress) Rules 1992";
(d) for the items under the heading NAVIGATIONAL EQUIP-

MENT substitute the following:

"S I 1993 No 69 The Merchant Shipping (Navi-
gational Equipment) Regula-
tions 1993";

(e) insert under the heading NAVIGATIONAL WARNINGS
and immediately after the Merchant Shipping
(Navigational Warnings) Amendment Regulations 1981
the following:

"S I 1992 No 1581 The Merchant Shipping (Navi-
gational Warnings) (Amend-
ment) Regulations 1992".
