ARRANGEMENT OF REGULATIONS

The Minister in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by
section 40(1)(b) of the Hospital Insurance Act 1970 makes the following
Regulations:

Citation and commencement
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Hospital Insurance
(Standard Premium) Regulations 1993 and shall come into operation on
1st April 1993.

Standard premium
2 Subject to regulation 3, the standard premium payable in
respect of standard hospital benefit shall be $60.68 cents a month (or
$14.00 where paid weekly) of which sum $6.20 cents a month (or $1.43
cents a week) shall be paid into the Mutual Re-Insurance Fund.

Persons over the age of 65 years
3 The standard premium payable in respect of standard hospital
benefit for persons over the age of sixty-five years who do not qualify for
subsidised hospital treatment under section 2(1)(b) of the Act shall be

$224.08 cents a month (or $51.71 cents a week) of which sum $6.20
cents a month (or $1.43 cents a week) shall be paid into the Mutual Re-
Insurance Fund.

Rescission
4 The Hospital Insurance (Standard Premium) Regulations 1992
are rescinded.
