HOSPITAL INSURANCE (HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN)
(PREMIUM) AMENDMENT ORDER 1993

The Minister in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by
section 13(2) of the Hospital Insurance Act 1970 makes the following
Order:

Citation and commencement
1 This Order which amends the Hospital Insurance (Health
Insurance Plan) (Premium) Order 1987 may be cited as the Hospital
Insurance (Health Insurance Plan) (Premium) Amendment Order 1993
and shall come into operation on 1st April 1993.

Rescinds paragraphs 2 and 3
2 Paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Hospital Insurance (Health Insurance
Plan) (Premium) Order 1987 are rescinded and replaced by the following:

"Premium
2 Subject to paragraph 3, the premium (including the
standard premium) to be paid to the Commission in respect of
each health insurance plan effected with the Commission under
the Act shall be $74.00 a month (or $17.08 cents a week where
paid weekly).

(PREMIUM) AMENDMENT ORDER 1993

Persons over the age of 65 years
3 The premium (including the standard premium) to be
paid to the Commission in respect of each health insurance plan
effected with the Commission under the Act for persons over the
age of sixty-five years who do not qualify for subsidised hospital
treatment under section 2(1) of the Act shall be $237.40 cents a
month (or $54.78 cents a week where paid weekly).".
