MOTOR CAR AMENDMENT ACT 1993

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Motor Car Act 1951:

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short title
1 This Act which amends the Motor Car Act 1951 may be cited as
the Motor Car Amendment Act 1993.

Amendments
2 Section 17 of the Motor Car Act 1951 is amended—

(a) in subsection (1), for all the words immediately after the
word "until" substitute the words "after the date of the
registration or the licensing of the motor car in the name
of another person or of the disposal of the motor car.";

(b) repeal subsections (2), (4) and (7);

(c) re-number subsection (3) as subsection (2) and in that
subsection—

(i) for the words "Subsection (1) shall not apply"
substitute the words "For the purposes of this
section a motor car is treated as disposed of";

(ii) repeal paragraph (c) and re-letter paragraph (d)
as paragraph (c);

(d) re-number subsections (5) and (6) as subsections (3) and
(4).
