MOTOR CAR AMENDMENT (NO. 2) ACT 1993

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Motor Car Act 1951;

Be it enacted by The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and
with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of
Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short Title
1 This Act which amends the Motor Car Act 1951 may be cited as
the Motor Car Amendment (No. 2) Act 1993.

Amendment
2 Section 62A of The Motor Car Act 1951 is amended as follows:

(a) in subsection (1), insert immediately after the word
"disability" the words "as defined in subsection (5)(a) or
to a person or body that provides free of charge
transport services to a person with a physical disability
as defined in subsection (5)(b)";

(b) in subsection (4), insert immediately after the words "to
whom" wherever they appear the words "or to the person
or body to which";

(c) in subsection (5)—

(i) for the words "means the owner" substitute the
words "means—

(a) the owner"

and for "(a)" and "(b)" substitute "(i)" and "(ii)"
respectively;

(ii) in paragraph (b) (re-numbered (ii) above), for the
words "in use." substitute the words "in use; or"
and insert immediately after paragraph (b) the
following:

"(b) a person who suffers from a physical
disability of such a nature and extent that
his ability to move from one place to
another within Bermuda depends entirely
upon the use of a motor car."
