CHAPTER 61

COLLECTION OF OFFICE FEES ORDER (Section 2)

1. This Order may be cited as the

COLLECTION OF OFFICE FEES ORDER.

2. From and after the twelfth day of August, 1939, the fees enumerated in the Schedule hereto payable to the public officers therein enumerated, in aid of the General Revenue, shall be collected by means of stamps.

3. The adhesive stamps in use for postal and revenue purposes shall be used for the payment of such fees except where stamps impressed by means of a die are directed to be used.

4. When any fee is payable in respect of a document, the stamp or stamps equivalent to such fee shall be affixed to that document.

5. When any fee is payable otherwise than in respect of a document, the stamp or stamps equivalent to such fee shall be affixed in a book to be kept for that purpose.

6. It shall be the duty of the head of the department who is required to collect such fees by means of adhesive stamps, or such officer or officers as may be deputed by him to do so, to cancel the stamp or stamps which represents each fee by -

(a) obliterating each stamp by means of a proper office date stamp with indelible ink; or

(b) perforating each stamp with the machine proper to his office or department (and perforating the title of the head of the department concerned); or

(c) writing across each stamp his initials and the date in figures.

SCHEDULE [Rule 2]

A. Any fee payable to:-

(a) The Registrar of the Supreme Court, other than any fee payable in respect of a civil action or a matter on the probate side of the Supreme Court.

(b) The Registrar General. (c) The Registrar of Titles to Land. (d) The Registrar of Companies.

B. Any fee not exceeding $10.00 payable:-

(e) To the Registrar of Births, Marriages and Deaths. (f) To the Registrar of Shipping. (g) To the Comptroller of Customs. (h) On any application for a lease, grant or to purchase or

lease National Lands. (i) To the Chief Forest Officer in respect of mahogany and

chicle licences.
