Fishing Levy (Northern Fish Trawl Fishery) Regulations
I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Fishing Levy Act 1991 and the Fisheries Management Act 1991.

Citation
               1.   These Regulations may be cited as the Fishing Levy (Northern Fish Trawl Fishery) Regulations.
[NOTE:  These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901,  s. 48.]
Interpretation
               2.   In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:
“Arafura Sea and Gulf of Carpentaria Zone” means the part of the Northern Fish Trawl Fishery specified in Part 1 of the Schedule;
“fishing permit” means a fishing permit for fishing in one or both of the zones of the Northern Fish Trawl Fishery;
“Levy Act” means the Fishing Levy Act 1991;
“Management Act” means the Fisheries Management Act 1991;
“Northern Fish Trawl Fishery” means the part of the Australian fishing zone that comprises the Arafura Sea and Gulf of Carpentaria Zone and the Timor Sea Zone;
“Timor Sea Zone” means the part of the Northern Fish Trawl Fishery specified in Part 2 of the Schedule.
Amount of levy
               3.   For the purposes of section 6 of the Levy Act, the amount of levy prescribed is:
             (a)   for a fishing permit that authorises fishing in a single zone of the Northern Fish Trawl Fishery—$9,130; and
             (b)   for a fishing permit that authorises fishing in both zones of the Northern Fish Trawl Fishery—$13,695.
When levy is due and payable
               4.   For the purposes of section 110 of the Management Act, levy is due and payable:
             (a)   if the fishing permit was granted before the commencement of these Regulations—on or before 30 November 1993; and
             (b)   if the fishing permit was granted after that commencement—on the grant of the permit.

NORTHERN FISH TRAWL FISHERY
 
PART 1—ARAFURA SEA AND GULF OF CARPENTARIA ZONE
 
The area bounded by a line:
             (a)   beginning at the point of latitude 10° 30¢ south, longitude 131°east; and
             (b)   running:
                          (i)   from there easterly along the parallel of latitude 10° 30¢ south to its intersection by the meridian of longitude 133° 16¢ east; and
                         (ii)   from there southerly along that meridian to its intersection by the parallel of latitude 11° south; and
                       (iii)   from there south-easterly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 11° 25¢ south, longitude 134° 15¢ east; and
                        (iv)   from there easterly along the parallel of latitude 11° 25¢ south to its intersection by the meridian of longitude 135° 35¢ east; and
                         (v)   from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 11° 05¢ south, longitude 136° 10¢ east; and
                        (vi)   from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 10° 30¢ south, longitude 136° 40¢ east; and
                       (vii)   from there south-easterly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 11° south, longitude 137° 05¢ east; and
                      (viii)   from there southerly along the meridian of longitude 137° 05¢ east to its intersection by the parallel of latitude 11° 47¢ south; and
                        (ix)   from there north-easterly along the geodesic between that point and the point of latitude 11° 10¢ south, longitude 141° east, to the intersection of that geodesic by the meridian of longitude 137° 24¢ east; and
SCHEDULE—continued
 
                         (x)   from there southerly along that meridian to its intersection by the parallel of latitude 13° 30¢ south; and
                        (xi)   from there easterly along that parallel to its intersection by the meridian of longitude 141° east; and
                       (xii)   from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 12° 30¢ south, longitude 141° 20¢ east; and
                     (xiii)   from there northerly along the meridian of longitude 141° 20¢ east to its intersection by the outer limit of the Australian fishing zone; and
                      (xiv)   from there generally westerly along that outer limit to its intersection by the meridian of longitude 131° east; and
                       (xv)   from there southerly along that meridian to the point where the line began.
 
PART 2—TIMOR SEA ZONE
 
The area bounded by a line:
             (a)   beginning at the point of latitude 15° 28¢ south, longitude 123° 45¢ east; and
             (b)   running:
                          (i)   from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 14° 53¢ south, longitude 124° 08¢ east; and
                         (ii)   from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 14° 12¢ south, longitude 124° 50¢ east; and
                       (iii)   from there north-easterly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 13° 28¢ south, longitude 125° 43¢ east; and
                        (iv)   from there easterly along the parallel of latitude 13° 28¢ south to its intersection by the meridian of longitude 127°east; and

                         (v)   from there easterly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 13° 21¢ south, longitude 129° 40¢ east; and
                        (vi)   from there northerly along the meridian of longitude 129° 40¢ east to its intersection by the parallel of latitude 12° 30¢ south; and
                       (vii)   from there westerly along that parallel to its intersection by the meridian of longitude 128° 23¢ 07¢¢ east; and
                      (viii)   from there north-westerly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 12° 26¢ 30¢¢ south, longitude 128° 22¢ east; and
                        (ix)   from there north-westerly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 11° 48¢ south, longitude 127° 53¢45¢¢ east; and
                         (x)   from there north-westerly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 11° 13¢ 32¢¢ south, longitude 127° 32¢ 11¢¢ east; and
                        (xi)   from there south-westerly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 11° 15¢ south, longitude 127° 31¢ east; and
                       (xii)   from there south-westerly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 11° 18¢ south, longitude 127° 01¢ east; and
                     (xiii)   from there south-westerly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 11° 18¢ 14¢¢ south, longitude 126° 58¢ east; and
                      (xiv)   from there westerly along the geodesic to the point of latitude 11° 19¢ south, longitude 126° 48¢ east, being a point on the outer limit of the Australian fishing zone; and
                       (xv)   from there generally westerly along that outer limit to its intersection by the meridian of longitude 123° 45¢ east; and
                      (xvi)   from there south along that meridian to the point where the line began.
