Australian Meat and Live-stock Industry (Standards) Order 2005
I, NARELLE CLEGG, delegate of the Secretary to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, make this Order under section 17 of the Australian Meat and Live-stock Industry Act 1997.       1              Name of Order                 This Order is the Australian Meat and Live-stock Industry (Standards) Order 2005. 2              Commencement                 This Order commences on 1 July 2005. 3              Export of live-stock in accordance with standards          (1)   The holder of a live-stock export licence must not export live-stock except in accordance with the Australian Standards for the Export of Live-stock published by the Department, as in force on 1 July 2005. Note   A copy of the Australian Standards for the Export of Live-stock is available from the Department’s website at http://www.daff.gov.au/livestockexportstandards.          (2)   However, subsection (1) does not apply if the live-stock export licence was granted before 1 December 2004 and has not been renewed, or varied, on or after 1 December 2004. Note   Under paragraph 18 (2) (a) of the Australian Meat and Live-stock Industry (Export Licensing) Regulations 1998, a live-stock export licence that was granted before 1 December 2004, and that has not been renewed or varied on or after 1 December 2004, is subject to the condition that the holder must not export live-stock except in accordance with the quality assurance system that applied to the licence before 1 December 2004. 4              Obligations under Export Control (Animals) Order 2004 not affected                 Nothing in this Order affects any requirement to comply with the Australian Standards for the Export of Live-stock that applies to the holder under the Export Control (Animals) Order 2004.
