1          Duration             This instrument: (a)    commences on 9 June 2005; and (b)    stops having effect at the end of May 2007. 2          Revocation             Instruments CASA 435/04 and 346/04 are revoked. 3          Application             This instrument applies to the pilot in command of a glider (the pilot) if the pilot: (a)   is a member of the Gliding Federation of Australia (the GFA); and (b)   is operating a glider from Bunyan Airfield (aerodrome reference point 36.08.189 S 149.08.553 E). 4          Approval and permission             When operating from Bunyan Airfield, the pilot may engage in a V.F.R. flight in Class A airspace in a glider that is not equipped with a secondary surveillance radar transponder in accordance with subregulation 174A (1) of CAR 1988 or paragraph 1.2 of section 52.1 of the Civil Aviation Orders. 5          Conditions The permission is subject to the conditions mentioned in Schedule 1. Schedule 1       Conditions       1     The flight must be conducted in accordance with the operational requirements of Airservices Australia and CASA for high altitude glider operations from Bunyan Airfield.       2     The pilot must be a member of the GFA and have received, and understood, a briefing from the Chief Flying Instructor of the Canberra Gliding Club, or his or her delegate, on the CASA and Airservices Australia operational requirements for high altitude glider operations from Bunyan Airfield.       3     The pilot must operate the glider in accordance with the instructions and directions of the Chief Flying Instructor, or a delegate of the Chief Flying Instructor, of the Canberra Gliding Club.       4     The pilot must have in his or her possession a copy of the current Letter of Agreement between Airservices Australia and the Canberra Gliding Club relating to the conduct of high altitude glider operations in the Snowy Mountains Wave Soaring Areas: (a)   during the flight; and (b)   for at least 1 hour immediately before and after the flight.       5     The pilot must carry and use a VHF radio to communicate with other aircraft in accordance with any directions issued by CASA under regulation 99A of CAR 1988 and published in AIP or NOTAMS.
