1              Name of Standard                 This Standard is the Radiocommunications (Analogue Speech (Angle Modulated) Equipment) Standard 2005. 2              Commencement                 This Standard commences on 15 June 2005. 3              Revocation                 Radiocommunications Standard (Analogue Speech (Angle Modulated) Equipment) No.1 of 1995 is revoked. 4              Definitions                 In this Standard: Act means the Radiocommunications Act 1992. analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment means a radiocommunications device that is operated on a land mobile frequency up to 520 MHz within the scope of AS/NZS 4295:2004 to provide a land mobile radio service. AS/NZS 4295:2004 means the standard AS/NZS 4295:2004, Analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment operating in land mobile and fixed services bands in the frequency range 29.7 MHz to 1 GHz, published by Standards Australia, as in force from time to time. model, of a radiocommunications device, means a version of the device that has a particular design and identifying number. 5              Application                 This Standard applies to analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment that is intended to be operated:                 (a)    as 1 or more of the following kinds of device:                           (i)    a land mobile system station;                          (ii)    an ambulatory station;                          (iii)    a point to multipoint station;                         (iv)    a point to point station;                          (v)    a station on board a ship for the purpose of on-board communications; and                (b)    on a frequency within the frequency range:                           (i)    for equipment that is intended to be operated as a station on board a ship for the purposes of on-board communication — 450 MHz to 470 MHz (inclusive); and                          (ii)    in any other case — 29.7 MHz to 520 MHz (inclusive); and                 (c)    on a frequency channel with a bandwidth of 12.5 kHz, 20 kHz or 25 kHz. 6              Standard for performance                 For paragraph 162 (1) (a) of the Act, the standard for performance of analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment is AS/NZS 4295:2004, to the extent that that standard applies to analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment operating on frequencies up to 520 MHz. 7              Compliance with this Standard — devices complying with former Standard          (1)   This section has effect despite the revocation of Radiocommunications Standard (Analogue Speech (Angle Modulated) Equipment) No. 1 of 1995 (the former Standard).          (2)   If analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment of a particular model was manufactured, imported, altered or modified before the commencement of this Standard, the device is taken to comply with this Standard if it complied with the former Standard when it was manufactured, imported, altered or modified.          (3)   If analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment of that model is manufactured, imported, altered or modified on or after the commencement of this Standard, the device is taken to comply with this Standard if it complies with the former Standard when it is manufactured, imported, altered or modified. 8              Effect of amendment of standard for performance          (1)   If analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment is manufactured, imported, altered or modified within 1 year after the standard for performance is amended, the device is taken to meet the standard for performance if it meets that standard as in force immediately before the amendment.          (2)   Analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment that is manufactured, imported, altered or modified 1 year or more after the standard for performance is amended must meet the standard for performance as amended.
